FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

In an environment which is getting ever more economically challenging, we can still proclaim EBENEZER, for thus far has the Lord brought us. The Jan-June 2016 semester commenced on a high note of optimism, with the completion of the library extension project. The Lord has also sustained us throughout the semester using those students who have faithfully paid their fees and the staff members who have taken their work more as a calling than a source of lucrative income.

Such sacrifice is commendable. Thank you faithful students; and thank you dedicated staff.

The purchase of 10 Library computers and the automation of the library system remain as the only outstanding challenges of our last developmental phase. The total needed for these remaining works is $7,000. My question is: “What can YOU do to help the college with the needed funds to complete this project?”

With the negotiations for the commencement of the Master’s programme now in progress, it would be regrettable if these outstanding jobs create a negative or delaying impact on the commencement of the much awaited Masters programme.

PHASE 3 DEVELOPMENT

Principal, Dr. Roy Musasiwa says that phase 3 property development comprises the extension and automation of our library. Available resources have so far allowed the accomplishment of the major part of this phase – the actual extension of the building and the building of computer work stations.

In order to bring this phase to completion the college now needs to install shelving in the extended section of the library ($2,344), purchase 11 computers ($5,500), install a library operating system, automate the loaning system and train staff in the use of the system ($5,000).

Please pray about being part of the completion of this remaining phase totaling $12,844. Might the Lord be moving you to meet one of the above items? Our bank details are as follows; CBZ, Selous Branch, Account number – 02123463360019. Account name is Domboshawa House Trust.

WHAT IS DOMBOSHAWA THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE? PDF Print E-mail

What is Domboshawa Theological College (DTC)?

It is non-denominational theological college in Harare (Zimbabwe) which has operated since 1992 under the leadership of Rev Dr Roy Musasiwa with a dedicated staff of 14 full timers and 17 adjunct lecturers.

Its board of trustees, under the chairmanship of Dr Geoffrey Chada, consists of members from different denominations and professional backgrounds.

Recognizing that Africa’s biggest need is leadership with integrity, DTC’s mission is producing biblically faithful leaders who are capable, who fear God, who are trustworthy and who hate dishonest gain (Exodus 18:21).

We equip students with a balance of academic rigour, devotional life and Christian character.

The college has a vision of being a centre of excellence in internationally recognised theological education and Christian leadership training.

Currently the college offers Diploma Programmes accredited by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education and a BA Degree in affiliation with the Zimbabwe Open University to a current population of 90 students.

The college is now looking forward to the establishment of Masters Programme in 2016.

EXTRACT FROM OUR BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

January - February 2016 edition

“We have come to our 23rd year of existence amid continuing difficult financial circumstances. Yet the Lord’s grace has sustained us amazingly throughout the years. Last year a record number of 19 students graduated through Zimbabwe Open University and another 16 earned the DTC Diploma in Pastoral Studies. We completed phases one and two of our renovation project, and we are now more than half way through phase 3, in preparation for the introduction of the Master’s programme in August 2016.

All this has been made possible by God’s grace and wonderful provision through the generosity of His people at home and abroad. The developments happened as a sign that the Lord’s hand is upon this college. I also express gratitude to the students who faithfully paid their fees. Deep gratitude especially to our staff members who took their work as a calling. You endured a reduction of your already low salaries in an effort to help the college survive these harsh economic times. It is because of you that we can say EBENEZER, thus far has the Lord led us.” (Dr. Roy Musasiwa)
